Massive shout out to @LeonidasNFT and @zachmeyer_ for implementing the Sat endpoint on ord.io so quickly!!

This is huge for the Sat endpoint enjoyooors!

To do this they needed to build a full sats index which for most of us is never feasible!

It’s enormous and only getting bigger with every new inscription!

Raph recommend 64GB of RAM to index sats!!

So it’s a solid effort getting it done so quickly!

Also big shoutout to Casey, Raph, Ordinally, Eloc, Rijndael and everyone else who contributed to getting these latest endpoints merged!

It’s a huge unlock for Ordinals!

In simple terms, it allows you to constantly update an inscription.

This can’t be done retroactively as the code needs to be in the initial inscription, so it doesn’t affect immutability.

There’s an argument that using the Sat endpoint means those inscriptions aren’t immutable anymore as they can be updated, however the data is still 100% on chain and immutable. It’s just the way it’s being interpreted that is changing.

It can always be known that an inscription is using the Sat or child endpoint, so make sure you’re aware that whatever is on any inscription with these endpoints can be changed.

This also brings in some fun game theory to the artistic process! Artwork could change or be destroyed depending on how it is reinscribed!

So many possibilities have been unlocked!
