More and more, as I watch a world spinning into oblivion with a push to very dangerous fake history stories (like what you are working to debunk),... I often wish we had a really good archive somewhere of what has REALLY been happening across so many fields!! I even contacted an LDS archivist to try to arrange storage of the many files in my own possession... For 1977... I do not change the story, but I enjoy reminiscing a bit. Please forgive! In 1976, I moved from Laurel Maryland (where I lived just one year, in a rented townhouse next to that of an NSA sargeant) to college Park, Maryland, where I was a co-PI on a DARPA grant on conflict prediction and resolution. We installed a then-new Decwriter in my house, which I used in 1977 or so. (Details are in my files and old magnetic tapes). Through DARPA, I connected to the brand new internet, with 100-200 favored people like me using it for real work. I was amazed to see names like Hal Puthoff and Targ of SRI on the list, but THEY never replied to email. I was also amazed to see a novel, Starfire, by one of their experimental subjects, Ingo swann, depicting what we were doing in College Park much more closely (but of course not 100%) than I expected. My MAIN use of the system was to connect to WWMCCS in the bowels of the Pentagon, both electronically and by magnetic tape. WWMCCS used Honeywell Multics operating systems with provably unbreakable security, using theorems in the "orange book" developed by a professor at Amherst, whom I exchanged emails with until his relatively recent untimely death. It is VERY understandable that the "rainbow book" technology which that led to has been very limited in the US, but enough has been published that other nations moved fast enough to be well ahead of the US in many such fields. That is one of the reasons why I keep supporting the call for open, transparent international platforms to integrate and balance the internet subnetworks, and to hold a new system for "seeing the sky" giving warning to all nations of the earth. Just yesterday I witnessed a very serious cybersecurity breach, atttacking a Zoom conversation led by Metta Spencer of Peace Magazine, such that SHE, the victim, may have all her work over decades removed form visibility (at least until after months of investigation which they may not even be able to fulfill), as punishment. Better cybersecurity for the growing number of innocent victims using the internet is becoming ever more essential to human survival.
